How Death Doulas
Support Families in Marin

When someone you love is dying, the experience can feel overwhelming. Families carry grief, worry, and exhaustion all at once. A death doula provides steadiness in the midst of it,  a presence that is calm, compassionate, and unafraid to walk this road with you.

How I Support Families:

Every family’s needs are different, but here is how I often help:

  • Communication
I help families organize their thoughts and questions for providers,  and support open, honest conversations with one another.

  • Planning & Choices
I guide discussions around medical wishes, rituals, and next steps so families don’t feel lost or unprepared.

  • Preparation
I gently help everyone understand what is likely to come, offering steadiness amidst the uncertainty.

  • Education & Resources
I explain what supports are available hospice, palliative care, grief groups, home funeral guides and connect families with trusted local services.

  • Caregiver Support
I walk alongside those carrying the daily weight of caregiving, offering encouragement, perspective, and reminders that they are not alone.

I can meet with you virtually or in person. Sometimes what helps most is simply having someone to talk to, someone calm, experienced, and present in the midst of chaos.

Not Every Doula Is the Same

The word doula is a broad one. Some doulas focus only on paperwork or grief support, others on vigil or ritual. I support both the dying and their families because both need care, both need guidance, and both need presence.

If your family is facing the end of life, you do not have to carry it alone. I would be honored to walk with you.

A physical transition zone in nature. A frozen lake meets the desert shore.
